Jennifer Cobb CPA, PLLC So you may or may not know that QuickBooks has two different platforms – QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.
With Online, you “subscribe” to the software and pay a monthly fee. You have no software to install and your file is accessible via any internet connection using a choice of several browsers. You are always working with the most current version of the software and your data is always backed up.
Imagine, you can access your accounting data/reports anytime AND anywhere! You can log in to your file from your office computer, from your laptop on the sofa at home, or from your phone or tablet on the go!!
There are different versions of the Online software. Which one is right for you will depend on your type of business and how many users you need to access your QuickBooks file. With all versions, you receive two FREE accountant log ins so you don’t have to worry about paying more to give your accountant and/or tax return preparer access to your data.
In addition, there are numerous “apps” available to integrate with Online that give you even more flexibility when tailoring the software to your specific business needs.
Of course, there are still certain business needs for which the Desktop platform is better suited.
Are you interested in learning whether Online would be a good fit for your business? I am a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor for both the Desktop and Online platforms and can help you determine which is the best fit for your business!
